Make sure the laser head is high enough to clear the highest point of the wood by just a mm or 2.ĥ) Start the job in Lightburn. ![]() A scrap piece or wood, or anything that raises it is fine. Then you elevate the left side by placing something under it about 2" tall. I have yet to find a laser manufacturer that recommends the correct focal distance! This is a quick and easy test!ġ) In Lightburn, set the laser origin to absolute coordinates on the laser tab.Ģ) Use the pencil tool and draw a 9" straight line from left to right.ģ) Jog your laser to the beginning of the line using the set laser position icon on the left toolbar in Lightburn (Looks like a map pin).Ĥ) Now at the laser, take a piece of wood about 10" in length and place it under your laser head on the X-Axis (Left to right) in the left most position. No matter what any manufacturer tells you, the best way to focus a laser is a ramp test.
